it started here about 9am this morning and we now have about 2 inches of snow.... but it seems to be easing off. They are apparently expecting it to go on all through the night and tomorrow morning; then sunny afternoon and a sunny Sunday which will be fab to go walking in
I got to the rail station this morning only to find out that the revised timetable South West Trains already announced last night meant no more than 3 trains an hour running into London; and that was before it even started snowing. So I made an executive decision and turned around and drove home. There is no way I wanted to have to either battle for about 2 or 3 hours to get home again or even worse get stuck in London for the weekend with no-one around to feed the cats. Besides which I made sure yesterday that everything at work was up to date just in case... and I can monitor emails from here so all should be OK.
I walked to the corner shop a bit earlier on to get some milk as I suspect the milkman won't be able to get through tomorrow morning (besides which I had run out and really fancied a cuppa
) and they still had bits and pieces of everything.
Two of the cats are loving the snow and have had some mad moments chasing each other and some snow flakes - fun to watch them and put a smile on my face.
it does amaze me though how the country comes to a grinding halt because of 4 inches of snow? It's not as though this is the tropics and snow is unheard of; it's an annual occurrence! Sigh
