Aggers have you heard of The Cinnamon Trust? It doesn't have to be a puppy. Lots of older dogs find themselves in need of a home because their owners go into care and can't take them with them

I'm sure you mean well Mm, but tbh if it were me, two weeks would be way too soon - by several months, probably - to even be thinking of another dog :(
Wouldn't it be better to wait and see if Aggers wants to approach the subject, in time? xx

I completely understand your feelings of loss and deep sorrow, Aggers - we still mourn our beloved cat Oscar after five years. We had decided before he left us that we would not get another cat as our life had changed so much in the 17 years we had him, and we knew that we would not have the same access to people who would care for our pet whenever we were away, which we felt would be unfair. Our pets take up a special place in our hearts, and I found that talking to others who had been through the same loss was very helpful. Love to you both xxxx

It is certainly a slow business getting over our loss.

To be honest, I don't think I would want to take on a new pet now, and I don't think Mrs A could either.

We do talk over our feelings, and I think that is a great help. We have decided that we should get out and about more now,
as our sadness seems to subside when we get away from our usual living space, which we shared with Prince. We have just
booked a five-day coach holiday to Barnstable over the Christmas (and my birthday) period, and are looking forward to it.

All I can say is that our sadness does diminish slightly every day.

Your kind words of comfort and understanding are much appreciated.

Aggers I truly am sorry if I spoke out of turn, but I was acting on your own comments when you said this

It would be easier if we acquired another puppy, but at my
age that might not prove to be a very good idea.

That was why I mentioned the Cimmamon Trust and I only mentioned it because you did

I'm truly sorry if I misread your comments
