I'd say if Live Essentials is still showing, then reboot. If you still see it, then try to uninstall again. It's a persistent thing and tries to get you to check tickboxes to keep parts so it can keep infecting your machine...

When you have it out of the machine, then you can do some checks.

I had to do a reboot to remove it from my sparkly new W7 install.

I also noticed that in Program Files there is a thing called DVD Maker. It is also a Microsoft program with burning capabilities. Unfortunately it cannot be uninstalled, but it can be disabled in Programs and Features>>> 'Turn Windows features on and off' and unticking all of the Media software.

That really does strip the system down to bare bones level.
