Houses for sale

For our homes and gardens

Humph!!!

We do people tell fibs

Over here, when describing a property, we go by "habitable" size and rooms sizes, as in sq. meters. The house is described as having 170m2, whioch is almost the size of ours - so was a bit confused to see the photos and also that it was only 2 bedrooms.

What they've done, is add the garden shed, the wood store, the stone out-building and also the car-port, as habitable. That will come back to bite them o nthe bum when they actually sell ;) They added the terraces, which is fine.

So it is tiny

The lounge is not a room to relax in, you could almost touch the wall from one side to the other  and there was an enormous crack down one wall in one bedroom and I really disliked the double-glazed windows, so out of character for the supposed age of the house..

They tried to baffle Grumpy (yeah, he was a builder, just try and tell him about building houses  ) about how it was abuilt, what was left of the original monte etc etc.

They also said that the garden wall was falling down, so had it re-built - but forgot to mention that it was a huge flood that caused it

And access? Don't get me statred on that one - they don't actually own some of the frontage, that's by some-one else - no-one knows who  again, quite normal over here.

I loved the outside terraces, and also the swing benches   Didn't like their furniture and there was not a hope of both of us sleeping comfortably in the double bed - it was a 3/4, not a double

And then we heard the goss from our friends - so that really made our minds up.

So it's still the other house in the same cluster - you can't call it a village, there's only about 10 houses altogether

Indeed  And I had already told them we knew quite a few people in the area, so it's obvious we'd hear the goss ;)

But it was a nice break :D Di, it wasa a lovely couple of days :D

Even if it piddled down a few times - we got stuck in a coffee, so had a lovely chat in there, with locals - refused their offer of sharing their lunch though - looked like chicken claws

ewww re the lunch Ton, I definitely also would have politely declined

As for the house  It's quite amazing just what people think they can get away with and the sad thing is; there will be people who are gullible enough to believe them

Oooh the house at the back of ours has sold - I didn't even know it was for sale ( must be slipping :P ) but Sue next door was telling me about it today, and how she'd already had a good nosey on Rightmove :D  She says they are downsizing as their two daughters are at uni now......

http://www.rightmove.co.uk/property-for ... miumA=true

It's a five bed and ours is four, it has a bigger layout downstairs than us and an extra bathroom on the top floor, but even so that is a whopping price!!  I will have to keep an eye out for when the sold price gets listed on there, I'm not sure they will have got the FAP ;)

It all looks lovely, and on pic 14 the trees you can see peeking over their fence are ours, behind our decking 8-)

I'm trying to compose a carefully worded e-mail, to those people whose houe we saw.

I really really want to tell them, nicely, that saying your house is 170m2, when it's not is a fib.

Our house, with it's three floors, terraces, balconies and garage is only 153m2.

I've drafted one - and discarded it    I was far too rude
