Morning Ally, enjoy seeing your mum and dad, I can feel your happiness at being able to type that :) ;) Thanks for the extra hug xx

It is D's birthday today, we are taking her out for a meal this evening, I've already bought her an orchid plant in a ceramic pot and a Yankee Candle but it doesn't seem much so am going to buy a Amazon voucher as she loves her kindle and can buy some books with it. A few years ago I would have bought her paperbacks but technology moves on ;) That means I need to nip to town, so will fit in a walk as well.....

It is dull here again but it may well burn off later, the forecast improves as the week goes on, they are saying above average temps :) Thanks Di for sorting out your winter tops, I think you did the trick :P ;)

Have a good day everyone :) xx

Morning all :D

Spent the whole of yesterday on the phone sorting out all the utilities, if I get told once more 'putting you on hold' think I'll scream  It was made more tedious because it's a relocation so for example two local authorities, two water companies to deal with and so on. Still loads to do, but most of it can now be done online thank goodness. Hopefully it won't be as painful when I have to do it all again in 6mths time.

Expecting a client at 10.30, will be passing her on to my old consultant so this is the last appointment. I've no plans to restart down in Kent, too much hassle chasing new clients and tbh I'm quite happy to relax and enjoy proper retirement time with E.

More packing and sorting today, oh the joys of cardboard boxes and sticky tape.

Hope you all have a good day :D

Morning all :)

Jen that is the most tedious part definitely xx

We had a bit of rain early on, but it's gone now and set to be another nice day.
Lol Kaz it was just a couple of long-sleeved t-shirts for the mornings, not quite Wintery :D I know, I said yesterday it's going to be positively hot again, such a treat :)

Ally have a lovely time with your parents and with your Nothing :)
Kaz that sounds perfect :)
Loz I'm sure Jasper will look gorgeous :)

We're going out tonight too, an unexpected surprise, friend D is down with (I think) her sister - Bb spoke to her yesterday and wasn't quite sure which name she said, her sister and another mutual friend have similar names :D Either way, she's taking us out to the Thai place as a treat :D
Hope you all have a good day

Morning all - haven't had the laptop on since Saturday, most unusual for me :o  The internet here is very flaky. Jen, I feel your pain with regard to the utilities - I've had great service from the telephone people and Sky, but yesterday I phoned to give gas and electricity readings (same company for both) and what with trying to convince the girl that (a) we were not tenants moving out, (b) we were not landlords installing new tenants, (c) we actually owned the house and had sold it and (d) resisting her touting for the business of the new owners, it took a while   However, it's done now. The sale should be completing today.

We are both struggling with constant tiredness, I suspect a reaction to all that has been going on, although we are sleeping better now. Michael was here yesterday, so it was very early to bed last night. Today Mr. Osc is going to play golf and I am meeting my sister and a friend for lunch, so slight normality returning. It's dull here, Mr. Osc has been for a walk and says there is fog on the hill and it's almost humid. Tomorrow is supposed to be lovely. Yesterday we went and bought two pendant lights for our new home, I know we won't need them for months but they only had three left - we picked them out in March but didn't feel able to buy then, thought they didn't have any left as they weren't on their website. But I emailed last week and got a very prompt reply, and they were held for us to collect yesterday. All very efficient, and we even got parking right outside the door

Better go and have my shower, then wander up to do a bit of shopping locally - don't want to do a supermarket shop this week as we will be moving into Miss Osc's on Friday all being well and will assess what we need when we are settled in there. Good luck at the hosptial, Di - have a good day everyone :)
