Really? Well that is good and proves how little I have seen of it on telly Obviously they don't mention that on the radio which is where I have been following it. I say following it very loosely as mostly I have been reading all your comments.

Really pleased to hear that and it goes someway to restoring my faith in a previously immensely corrupt and racist country. I really do need to move on from Cry Freedom and Stephen Biko don't I?

So I have just been reading about Thokozile Masipa She sounds a very inspiring woman with a good background and apparently unlikely to be swayed by Oscar's fame and standing.

We watched her summing up live on Sky News and she was excellent. Every point was outlined and she gave her reason for each decision she made.

Regardless of what we might feel about this case, the prosecution totally failed to prove premeditation. Regarding 2nd degree murder she was quite clear if there is a shadow of doubt the law must decide for the defendant. She really had no choice but to pronounce culpable homicide.

E and I were very impressed with Thokozile Masipa, we couldn't fault her in any way. As for the sentence, well that's another matter and is anyone's guess at this stage.
