Thanks all,

I will be working in Guildford. It's a downward move in terms of money but a positive move in terms of life quality. I'll be travelling to France but the travel will be easier as I'll be able to get to Poitiers or Limoges. The week at home working will help too. Nuff said about work...

Home... I've been freezing my cojones off in the workshop and garage trying to get things sorted out. We're putting in new cupboards, ripping out old work surfaces and I'll be building two new internal breeze walls from which we'll build a complete new storage and work environment.

That's for the next week. Then back to the kitchen and finishing that. Then.... Well if we can fit any more work in during the last week we'll be doing that too.

Back to the living room to tell Mrs S I'm on the trail of 4 movies for us to watch.

Anon.

Hi Di, if you find the time then that would be great.

I'll let you know when I'm there and if you are going to be in town then we can meet.

As I know this job inside out (I designed all the parts in 2007 and ran the whole world wide project in 2010/12), I won't be feeling stressed.

The country manager, who knows me as the program manager wanted to interview me as she knew my CV and the role did not match and she also knew me as the manager not the "doer"....

The interview was a laugh.

Erm I designed this process I'm going to run, did the testing, selected the tool and did all the configuration of it.
Yes I know the technical side. Think of it as a holiday for me, something easy for once (that got a laugh...)

In the end we agreed that a) I did know what I had signed up for and b) that I might actually be able to do it.

I'm so pleased it went well for you, Suff.

Hope you continue to find the job pleasurable - but don't overdo it.

Suff, Good luck with your new job. Eldest son has just got another job with a firm who make underwater lights. He now has to travel to Leicester and stay for four nights as he lives in Tonbridge. So your journey is much longer. Should be like the Transport Minister and get a chauffer driven car!!

Thanks all,

Meri, that would be great. Anyone who is local and wants to meet I'll be around. I don't get there till Feb 4th and it will take me a week or two to get sorted out with long term accommodation etc, but then I'll be available to meet.

Mrs S has me on a strict diet and I've been building in the Workshops..... I should be thinner (well less than 20stone anyway... )
