votes yes ,will that mean that as it won't immediately be in the EU and may not be accepted, will Scots in England be foreign aliens?
will Scots in the forces become merceranies?
what currency will they use?
how will they raise/train/ arm/ equip & pay for air force/navy/army/

as Scotland would not be a member of NATO,what happens if PUTIN comes calling?

Let me try and answer that in turn.

will that mean that as it won't immediately be in the EU and may not be accepted, will Scots in England be foreign aliens?

A vote by the people is not the formal political mechanisms to separate the countries. It is just a referendum, binding on the government, to make the separation happen. Scotland will not formally exit the EU until the final paperwork is done and Scotland secedes from the merging of the parliaments. Even after that, it would take another referendum to renounce the crown and create a head of state. So Scotland would be an independent country under the same head of state in the first instance.

I would expect these negotiations to take about 2 years. What is more important is that Westminster would be duty bound to exclude Scots MP's from all business that does not include Scotland and Scots would be excluded from the next General Election pending their exit.

Even after the secession, because the Queen is still head of state, Scots would hold a similar position to other commonwealth countries. Their status would strongly depend on the negotiations before the formal process is complete.

Nobody is intending to make unilateral declarations or throw up borders in a day. That is just the usual press BS.

will Scots in the forces become merceranies?

No more than the other members of other countries who have sworn allegiance to the Queen are mercenaries in the Army today. Whilst the parallel between being paid to fight is the same, the difference between mercenaries and a military force is that mercenaries ONLY work for money and are not sworn to or aligned with the government except for the actions which they are paid. More press BS which annoys the hell out of the Scots in the Army today. I'd expect them to vote Yes!

what currency will they use?

What is a Fiat currency? Look it up. Then ask "What currency does Switzerland use". Then look up the relative GDP's when, for argument's sake, Scots get 75% of NSO in their GDP. Not the revenues, but the principal in the GDP. The question is self answering when you have the figures.

What is far more interesting is that nobody, including Salmond, wants the general people to understand what underpins our currency. Look it up.

how will they raise/train/ arm/ equip & pay for air force/navy/army/

How does New Zealand? The question is patently ridiculous. Scotland, today, has a larger GDP than New Zealand without Scottish Oil. Scotland, today, already pays for 10% of British forces, because Scotland contributes ~10% of the GDP and gets ~10% of the income. Which means Scotland pays for ~10% of the armed forces, not just troops, but equipment too. Granted start up costs would be high, but, after what I've already said, Scotland has fully paid for 10% of that equipment, they own it. In fact if you count the last 20 years of NSO revenues at, say, 75%, the Scots have probably paid for most of it.

Another ridiculous and crazy question. If England wants Scotland to pay their share of the £1.1tn that Westminster has run up pin debt, they're going to have to give Scots the assets they have already paid for, many times over.

as Scotland would not be a member of NATO,what happens if PUTIN comes calling?

I expect, in the fullness of time, that Faslane will remain. Therefore Scotland will be invited to join NATO therefore if Putin comes calling, he's going to get a bloody nose!

All of the above come under FUD

Fear
Uncertainty
Doubt

None of which, with at least a modicum of reflection, is a reason to vote NO.

What you are saying is this.

If England, in a fit of pique, were to steal everything the Scots have paid for, bar their trade, deport their people and demand reparations for debt taken out by a predominantly English Government, what would they do! Oh and to cap it off, if Russia were to invade the landmass of the United Kingdom, would England just sit back and let them.

No you shout in horror, the English could not do that. The English are a fair people.

Really?

Just ask the Irish!

Fortunately for the Scots, the UK is signed up to the Human Rights Act. Attempting to do what you outline above would result in the most humungous class action lawsuit that the defendant would lose and it would cost the Westminster government hundreds of millions.

So can we dial down the rhetoric and try to understand why so many Scots would choose to vote Yes. That might be a much better avenue than rabble rousing in the way the press do.
