Refugees are supposed to stop at the first safe country they reach - which is not here! I agree with Ossie, they are the EU's problem and should not become ours :(

Kate I also feel sorry for the women and children, especially the children, but the country is fit to burst as it is :? :( xxx

If we don't stop this and soon, it will be our own women and children we're sorry for.

Then it will be far, far, too late.

Aggers wrote:If it was universal knowledge that any illegal immigrants would be automatically sent back to where they came
from, the problem could be solved very quickly.

I believe that would have an enormous effect, Aggers, if it was applied continually and with lots of publicity. Unfortunately no such resolution will ever be passed in the UN nor in any regional grouping such as the EU. The bleeding hearts brigades will see to that.

What countries could do, but for some reason will not, is apply International law, which, as Kaz states, requires refugees to seek asylum in the nearest safe state, as defined by the UN. By definition that would rarely be the UK or most of the EU. Illegal immigrants and bogus asylum seekers should simply be sent back to their last port of call with no questions asked.

Our country has gone to the dogs in more ways than one, we are dominated by laws not of our making, and our leaders are too weak to do anything about these situations and who go along with these terrible problems caused by self serving idiots. We are not respected as a nation hence the dregs of society are welcomed here with open arms. Just how many bogus immigrants have been turned back when they get out of containers or come in under false passports. It is the children I worry about.
