Spring has sprung

Postby tonicha » 12 Jan 2013, 13:00

Lately, we noticed the blossom coming out on the almond trees - pink and white - and going up to Santa Caterina this morning, the trees were full of blossom, it was lovely :D

So Grumpy has gone round our garden and taken photos of the aloe vera which is also in flower, and my Christmas cactus, which is slightly late, but gorgeous.

If I'm able to fathom it out, I'll post it later on the photo board :)

If not, I'll be yelling for help

I've noticed the Spring bulbs starting to come up - in other peoples' gardens, we've only got containers in our garden and I forget to plant any bulbs in them

Loads of plants Ally - a bit of a garden at the front with all sorts in and numerous pots on the patios. I love my cala lillies :)

Meant to say that the fields are now full of yellow flowers and the field opposite us also now has poppies and white flowers.

I haven't seen any signs of Spring yet.

In fact, I haven't seen much sign of Winter, either.

I noticed Mr Blackbird tidying his display area yesterday, so he obviously thinks that Spring is on its way. :D

I also see some of the buds on some of the trees are sprouting.... so we're probably in for a cold snap!

Thanks for the heads up. Summer seems a bit hotter than lately, more like I remember as a kid. I've also noticed that what you guys comment on, within the month, I see the exact opposite, (given the opposite season) so that would ake an amazing early autumn! Last years autumn was about may. I have better get the garden ready for my winter crop sooner than expected then
Everything happens for a reason
