Good!
Trouble is, until women in numbers do have the nous/courage to fight back, men like that will carry on being in charge of them.

Course they are fighting back. They have the freedom to fight. It's progress which is why the old fossil es was bumping his gums.

Do they have the freedom? Maybe in some countries, but in many more places they really don't. Even in our own country women from certain cultures may have the law of the land telling them they have freedom, but their families, employers and religion prove that they don't.

Turkey is officially a secular state, even though most of its citizens are Moslems, that, in some ways, gives women more freedom.

In Islamic states that is not the case, and in general women do not study the Koran, that is the preserve of males from a very young age. Women are told by their menfolk what the Koran orders them to do - according to the male interpretation. It is not the men forcing the women, you understand, it is what the Holy book says.

If you look beyond the realms of the day to day press and sensationalism, you read that things are changing, year by year. Iran and the women who had all the freedom decided to thrown it away on religious ferver. However they have a vote and they are using it. Things are changing and they are getting more rights, more freedoms. You might want to read this article on women's rights in Saudi and how they are changing.

You might want to check what you read in the press with other sources.

From what I see, there is as much or more extremism in the UK than there is outside of it. Certainly less or backwards progress in the UK, caused, I'm sure, by fear of losing their culture and family identity.

Also and this is rarely mentioned, the more educated, the more freedom.

Food for thought.

Yes the Moslem Brotherhood is trying to drag everyone back to the 7th century, but look at Egypt. They threw them out and a major part of it was the attempt to suppress the women, as is done in other countries.
