I called in to three places in Chesterfield today - not one chubby stick in sight.

I will try Sainsburys tomorrow and just keep an eye out over the next few weeks.

I have scoured Cheltenham and Gloucester today for these, in the end I ended up getting one with the mascara as that is still a good deal  No Chubby Sticks to be found, even when the man in W H Smith kindly rummaged through their whole two boxes of the magazine in the storeroom! All mascaras and the skin cream :x  Chubby Sticks are expensive, I bought a pack with three colours in Corfu airport last year and that was nearly £40 :o I tried everywhere I could think of, large stores and corner newsagents alike!

We are popping round to see D tonight, to discuss this flipping wedding in Cyprus, so I wonder if a detour to the huge Sainsbury's might be in order 8-) ;)

I really fancy the Watermelon one, I already have the Strawberry as it was in that pack from last year :)

Thanks Lissie, wish me luck! xx

You're welcome Lissie - it's been fun each time these good freebies have appeared :D
I enjoy giving away the spare mags too :D

None of our Sainsbury's have any of the lipsticks! Nor the Tesco's, we've been all over this evening  Actually I doubt they have been out on the shelves here at all, the sections with the mags in were all stuffed full, but only with the mascaras and face cream ones :? My theory is that whoever supplies the supermarkets here in Gloucester - the customer service lady in the giant Tesco said supermarkets have a supplier, they don't deal in the mags and newspapers directly themselves - is creaming off the Chubby Sticks, possibly selling them on :? :(

I have given up on the active search, if I pass a newsagents I will pop in, but I'm not chasing all over the area again

At least I still have the ones I bought in Corfu ;)

I wouldn't be surprised Kaz - very disappointing for the end user though. I often find that the mags don't have anything in them - someone has come, opened up the pack and taken the freebie. And the newsagent can't do anything about it

Kaz, the shop I used to manage had all newspapers and magazines supplied by WH Smith's wholesale division, they seemed to have a monopoly on news distribution around here back then.
Of course, it could be that they're reaching the shops but not making it onto the shopfloor - the shop staff might be having first dibs :?
