I love Pat Barker's books too. Having fallen in love with her wonderful writing with 'Union Street' and then 'The Regeneration Trilogy' I've held back reading any of her other novels as I didn't want to be disappointed because how can she write anything as great ever again?

I am just about to start 'A Half Forgotten Song' by Katherine Webb
http://www.amazon.co.uk/Half-Forgotten- ... 133&sr=1-1
I really enjoyed her last books, 'The legacy' and 'The Unseen'. Her books tend to be set in two different times, so you have to be able to slip from one story to another and I quite like that :D

I loved The Chocolate Girls, be sure to read the sequel "The Bells Of Bournville Green" :D

Jo..I am slightly anal in that if I come across an author/book I've not heard of I have to google them and suss the books out.
I need to know and read them in order.

This author has all her books set in Birmingham...lovely to read. :D

They are a lovely read, I've had a few of hers now and have enjoyed them all :)
The last Annie Murray that I read was My Mother My Daughter - have you read that?

^ It was my Mom who first introduced me to her books.

I've now finished The Generation Game by Sophie Duffy.
I really really loved it. It was funny yet touching, and filled with wonderful characters who I really found myself caring about.
