Don't need anything, just a few bits

Postby Osc » 23 Jun 2014, 17:30

Ok, so I surveyed the holiday clothes a while back and said "we don't really need much, just a couple of teeshirts......." I've already bought some linen cropped trousers and some teeshirts, yet today (official holiday clothes shopping day) saw me buying shorts, three tops, flip flops, underwear, plus two teeshirts and two shirts for Mr. Osc. :? - just a few bits then   Still have to do the toiletries shop, well that will mostly be suncream.....won't it?

With the possibility of moving house not long after our return :o :o we have to really work at packing stuff away and I'm working off a week-by-week schedule that I made out yesterday (ooh I love me lists!!)

Did I mention we're going on a cruise

Daahling you just have to have the right thing for the right time and the right place, and the right weather, and the right circumstances...so that's 4 things already :D
At least you already have a good selection of posh frocks to choose from :D

I have been informed that we may have to go shopping again for another outfit or two for our next cruise. Not till September.
We take three cases, one we share with our shoes, toiletries and underwear. The other cases are for our good clothes. As we are not flying weight doesn't really matter for this one. Even our hand luggage is heavy--over 10 kg.

Oooh how exciting osc :D

The only cruise we did was when we took mother, things were already getting difficult then so E's sort of allowed that to influence his feeling about them. I think, providing we choose the right one for us, he'd actually enjoy it, I've been trying to talk him into booking one for ages.

Where is this cruise taking you, how long for and which cruise line are you going with. Lots of questions lol it would be really helpful to get a few tips and recommendations.

Jen, we are going from Southampton on Royal Caribbean for two weeks, travelling as far as Italy (two ports there), Toulon in France, and some Spanish and Portuguese ports. Hope it's going to be ok, it's the biggest ship we have been on and I've been reading mixed reviews (Mr. Osc says to stop reading the reviews  ) Meeting Ally in Gibraltar on Tuesday 15th July :D :D

But you see, even they create a problem - I need to bring posh frocks that I can hand wash and drip dry in the shower, because if you start using the onboard laundry, the costs soon add up. Luckily I try and buy dresses that I can wash rather than dry clean and I have about five that don't need ironing either. How's that for a first world problem

Cruiser, I love that idea of the third case because the shoes are so flipping heavy and for me, by the time I bring good sandals, everyday sandals, nice evening sandals, and dance shoes, and himself has shoes, dance shoes and sandals, the weight soon builds up. Then when you add in sun creams and toiletries....... Mind you, we have to fly all the time so would be trying to keep the cost of check in bags down also, lucky for you when you can drive to where you are boarding the ship.
