I went shopping

Postby meriad » 01 Jun 2014, 06:55

and am now a very happy bunny  today's job will be potting up

3 x tomato plants
3 x chilli plants
2 x cucumber
1 x aubergine
2 x peppers

they'll all go into the greenhouse

outside I have 3 different types of courgette (well you did all say they need lots of water and the weather forecast for June apparently isn't promising so....   )
seeds for lettuce outside
seeds for basil and chives and coriander - in small hanging baskets in the greenhouse

I bought a few other bits and pieces as well, ie new cover for the patio furniture, fertilizer, compost, rain gauge

I'm happy

Wow, you're way ahead of me Kaz :) Admittedly I am very late this year :(

Next year I'm determined to be a lot earlier

Ally and Ton - as a matter of interest; from when to when can you grow / harvest veg / fruit like tomato's etc

As we're in the very south of Spain (Andalucia) Ria this means we have an excellent climate for growing toms...well, loads of stuff really, all year round. :D

My neighbour Alfonso says he has 3 harvests of tomatoes a year.

The huge beef-steak ones, cherry and/or vine (which I grow from plants mum bought me and get zillions) :D and Raf toms which are the ones that seem to be around all year that have that juicy, sweet flavour that Spain is famous for.

I can't get enough of them..I adore tomatoes. Good job really!
