oh how annoying!

I have shopped online for years and mostly never have problems, I have come across WorldPay when Amy was at swimming lessons and have to say I did not like that systems way of working.

I prefer to use PayPal or my debit card direct with company/shop.

When it works its great, but when things go wrong it always takes ages to get it fixed!

I didn't realise that I was using WorldPay, they just happened to be the middle man. The company I was trying to buy from is Curry's and I was trying to pay using my pre-paid credit card - that's how I knew the funds were there.

It is a Curry's site problem and my money had better be returned by 1 pm tomorrow or I am going to go nuclear. :o  Needless to say my purchase will now be made with another company.

John asked me to order him a PC from Currys two weeks ago, I selected to pay online and have it delivered to the store. I used a credit card for extra protection but it was declined. I was instructed to try again so I did. Declined again. Try again. Declined. I then used my debit card with no problems. I decided to try the card with a small purchase (99p) on Ebay via Paypal and that payment failed too.
It turned out that because of what Barclays felt was unusual activity on my card, I'd made a large purchase in Game a few days earlier and then tried to buy a PC, it had been blocked

That's happened to us before now Jo, with Barclays! In a way it's good to know they are on the ball, in case of hacking, but it can be a pain :?

I do agree that it is a good thing they are on the ball and can stop payments, but when all is done to prove that the purchase is legit why does it take forever and a day to undo the "block" and make the funds re-available immediately?

I don't mind my purchase being refused, but my money is now in limbo and not available to me. I have not got the goods, but someone has my money. :x :x :x

24 hours later and no money returned, even though it was promised! :x :x :x

My bank advised me to get on to Curry's and make sure the order was cancelled so that it, the bank, could re-credit my account in safety, but they warned me to definitely go and make sure because if the order was later processed for some reason I would run into unauthorised overdraft and penalties. Rang Curry's back and, mugger be(!) the order was still in the system even though I told them yesterday it was no longer required: "So when will I get my money back?" "Err, not sure."..... So I have just spent the last half hour making sure that every single attempt to purchase the goods has been officially cancelled. Back at the bank I gave them all the details of the cancellations and have made sure that any attempts by WoldPay or Curry's will be blocked, in return the bank has re-credited my account.

Guess which high street electrical store has lost a customer?
