And try explaining this too

Postby tonicha » 06 Apr 2014, 19:11

I've just read, on the Algarve Resident on line, that the police have told drivers where the speed traps are going to be for the month of April - nationwide  city by city, town by town and the dates.

Oh, I love the Portuguese way of thinking

Hmmph.
I've just got done for speeding  :x
The day I was driving Bb for his eye op, we were in a long line of traffic so they must have had a field day
I think I thought it was a 40 but it was 30

My unblemished 30-yr record is blown

Di

I got done by the Wiltshire police, years ago.

I thought it was 40, they said it was 30, then they did me, just before the most momumental hump back bridge.

If I was doing that speed, going over that bridge, i would have flown

Still got 4 points on my licence, my first - and last - ever.

<<Di and Ton>>

I thought it was a 40 but it was 30 ...

It's one of my beefs that when you're driving, especially in less built up areas, the speed limits change so flippin' frequently. Touch wood, I've not been done yet, but to be honest, " there but for the Grace of God go I" as the saying goes.

I very much dislike the SPECS average speed cameras especially on the motorways - it's so difficult to maintain your speed at (say) a constant "below 50 mph" especially if it's a relatively clear road ......

And now with all the new 20 zones. Just driving a couple of miles into the centre of our little town the speed limit changes about 6 times from 50 through all the other speeds down to some at 20. You have to keep taking your eye off the road so much, it can't be safe.

Don got done for speeding when we lived in the UK.

He asked for photographic evidence.

Then wanted ME to say I was driving!

But what hurt. Really hurt. Was the fact he had a beard at the time! :o
