New cast iron casserole dish

In Don's defence it will have looked whiter than white under the store lights and in isolation form other white things. I know: I have lots of white things that are all the same until they are put next to each other or something else that is white.

For further information. Men only see six colours: Red, Blue, Green, Yellow, Black and White. There is no such colour as lime green - it's yellow, and purple is blue unless it is red enough to be red.

But back to the pot. Bargain Kaz! Sis has the one mum got donkey's ago. It was "raw" cast iron when new, but now it has turned itself into the non-stickiest of non-stick pots.

AND - what part of CREAM written on said box did he not understand?!

AND...what makes it worse he has a far better eye for colours and details than I do.

Brain f*rt malfunction on his toaster buying abilities.

Meriad, I have an induction cooktop and a cast iron flat plate I bought from a department store in Wimbledon for 8pounds, and it works just fine. It cooked my sausages just last Wednesday.

You can also buy (although i don't have one) a mat that you can put between the cooktop and your pots, and the mat is what gets hot and it then transfers the heat to the pot.

Goodness Kaz, that must have been a fair effort to get that dish home!! I remember carrying my fry pan and hot plate home, I made them hold one for me so I could walk them home one at a time. but for 8 and 12 pounds each, there was no way I was leaving them there!!

It was, but luckily my MIL lives halfway between town and my house, so I stopped there for a rest and a cuppa

I've made a few lovely casseroles in it, it was worth the effort

Oh but I forgot to add, the next time I went in there the nice assistant who I'd asked about a red one rushed up to me and said they had red ones now, in the Barnwood Sainsbury's just up the road from me here - and they were in the sale too. Too late!!
