We and the boys have savings accounts with Nationwide and the counter service is so slow that I try to avoid actually going into the local branch if I can help it. My parents give me savings for the boys every month but what I do now is keep the cash that they give me and then I transfer the same amount online from our Barclays account into their Nationwide savings accounts. The only time I need to go in now is if I want to withdraw anything from our savings account or when either of the boys are given cheques on their birthdays and Christmas.
