Morning all, it's pleasant enough here, although the air is damp. Miss Osc, her hubby and Michael are calling to see us later, we haven't seen them since before they went away for Christmas so I'm looking forward to Michael telling us all about the snow. We've no plans for tonight, which is just as well, as I don't think I would be up to going out. There's a lot happening in Dublin for NYE but thankfully it's all being broadcast live on tv - although it's not beyond the bounds of possibility that we will press the record button and go to bed

Afternoon all. It's piddling it down here.

I was up and out early this morning to take the dog for her final dressing change - the bandages come off next week. :P :P

Then I decided to go for a ride and ended up getting soaked when the heavens opened half way round the track I had chosen. Ricky and I were like drowned rats when we got back.

Home for lunch and then I'm taking the girls off to my mums this afternoon. They (and the dog) are staying there tonight. We are off out to the local hotel for a drink or two and then onto a friends house to see in the New Year. I don't want to make it a late one (or a particularly drunken one) as we are at my mums for lunch tomorrow and it is my last day off work - back to the treadmill on Wednesday for me.

I nipped up to Sainsbury's for some milk so naturally the heavens opened again (I am a bit of a rain magnet! :o ) then the wind picked up and yet another umbrella bit the dust! It turned inside out and the spine broke, so I had to bin it   :? I was a bit wet when I got home, but am drying out nicely now

Afternoon all, it's still very windy here but the rain seems to have stopped for now. The forecast I saw earlier looks more promising for tomorrow and the rest of the week though.

Kaz, you sound like you have the same luck as I do with umbrellas
I hope the river doesn't rise enough to flood. What a worry.

I've been into town this morning to get some coffee for our machine, then back for lunch and since then I've made a fudge cheesecake. Mom and Dad are coming around this evening and we're going to get some Chinese food, we'll have some cheesecake afterwards, Dad doesn't like it though so I've got him his favourite cake - a jam donut from his favourite bakers in town, he's a man with expensive tastes is my Dad

Loz, be careful in those shoes!

The clouds are now thickening for the rain promised tonight, but we had a lovely walk down to the village, chatted to various friends (the Portuguese really love taking the wotsits out of each other and we were all in stitches, I was crying with laughter

When we got home, we had a few beers on the balcony, Grumpy is now having a nap and we'll have a lovely dinner tonight 8-)

And we both said, how lovely this, the life we lead, I'm so grateful we saved, scrimped and did without for years, so that we can enjoy ourselves now xxx :D
