My poor baby boy

Well ok he is 23 but he is still my baby......he now has three stitches in his head He had a seizure yesterday, fell and banged his head on his chest of drawers.

He is now having a helmet. Mr Shell is not happy, he thinks with two to one staffing he shouldn't need it. But he obviously does and I am not prepared to risk any more injury to him

Shell, I know that you do not want to hear this, but wouldn't Luke be better off at home with mum and dad?

I realise that it would hurt you financially and that one, or both of you, would have to give up work, but it would make Luke's life, and possibly yours, so much easier.

I do ask as someone who had to make those choices.

Presumably even with someone there he could still fall and hit his head though, at least at the moment a helmet might be the best idea I guess (((x)))

what a worry Shell; but I agree with the helmet. Even with 2 on 1 supervision accidents can (and do) happen; it's so quick. Luke i suspect won't want to have 2 people hovering around him at arms length 24/7 just in case he may fall - at least a helmet will give some protection and allow him his space

I know shell won't mind me jumping in here WM.
Shell and Tim had to make this decision a few years ago and I know it was something they both found heartbreaking. Luke doesn't sleep, so would be up and down all night. He is also a full grown man now and is obviously strong and quite difficult to control if he gets cross or upset. His seizures are worse and can happen at any time. If he has one when he is in the bath, or at the top of the stairs, for example it would be awful.
In a perfect world I know Shell would love to have Luke at home, but the reality is, it just wouldn't work. 42 has been great for Luke, giving him a home with people who love and understand him. There are always enough staff to ensure Luke is safe and happy. Now Luke is older he is outgrowing 42 and needs his own little bungalow, where he can have full time carers and the best life possible. This is what Shell is working towards now. This will provide Luke with the stable and safe home he needs. I have never been in the position Shell is in but knowing her as I do I know that this really is the best thing for not only Luke, but for Shell and Tim too.
