Poor L

She obviously has a gastric thing.

She started vomiting this morning after nothing but a drink of water. Then she was fine again and was hungry at lunch so had a bowl of plain pasta. That stayed down for about 3 hours.

Then she was hungry again at around 7pm and had a bowl of plain noodles and a banana. Just as we thought she was safe...... At least she made it yo the bathroom this time.

She's getting stomach cramps just before she is sick and says she is going hot and cold. She hasn't been to the toilet so I don't know if she has diarrhea too. I think it's a stomach flu of some sort.

I shall pop out tomorrow for some lucozade and pick up some of that powder stuff too though I doubt she will drink that as it tastes so disgusting.

Any ideas for keeping her fluids up. She is using my Britta bottle so is sipping water.

I have some left over new potatoes that she can try in the morning - she likes potatoes and they are nice and bland.

Sounds like poor L needs to just give her tummy a rest Debih and drink only water - just small frequent sips.

Drinking too much at once will only cause her to vomit again. :(

If it is a stomach flu thing then probably best to not eat anything. :(

Plenty rest tomorrow and hopefully she'll be on the mend quickly. xx

Debih tbh I wondered about her having food tonight, but it's hard if they're hungry :?
My own instinct has always been, if you/they are sick, then no food for at least 12 hours, and no liquid except plain water.
It's different if they're very young, but at her age she'll be fine with a missed meal or two.

She doesn't need any liquid other than the water. And in the morning if she feels ok then dry toast, with at least a couple of hours gap before anything else. Then maybe an egg, on or with a slice of toast.
For just a day, there's no need to worry about any other intake, honest xx

It is hard when your children say they're hungry - but no food really is the best option Debih as she'll probably just ick it up again. :?

Hope she gets well soon. xx

I'll try and stick with water for her tomorrow.

She doesn't eat egg or toast.  I read that plain boiled potatoes and plain rice are good things to have when reintroducing food and she likes both of those.

She's asleep now so at least her tummy will have a rest. She's only been sick three times but when it came, boy did it come!!

Another pj and tv day for her tomorrow then.

Flat coke is also very good if they won't drink the rehydrating stuff - and agreeing definitely no food, her tum needs a rest and fluids only is the best way.

Agree with all thats been said, i crave full fat coke when im like that, put a bit sugar in it and it makes it go flat, poor L, hope she recovers today. A day with no foid will not harm her if she cant keep food down.

Its horrid having things like that :( (((L)))

Hope she's better this morning Debih.

As the others have said, no solids, just liquid. My nan used to boil lemonade, then when it was warm/cool, I could sip that all day.
