Over a barrel!!!

Postby debih » 21 Feb 2014, 11:29

I've received the pet insurance renewal through this morning.

It has gone up from £9 a month to £29 a month.

I've just rung them and it is right - it's gone up because of the accident.

I was expecting it to but am shocked as to how much.

But I have to keep it as she won't be covered for existing problems by any other insurer. I've checked that it's worth keeping though - we still have up to £1800 left for the stricture and £2600 for the leg should any problems crop up that are as a direct result from the accident.

They've got me over a barrel really!!

they really do have you (and others) over a barrel - but I still think they are worth every penny you pay.

If you think about it Milly's insurance is now an annual premium of £348 which is way less than any operation would potentially cost you....

As a total by the by - When Jamie was 1; she was hit by a car and the resulting treatments cost me (or rather the insurance) just on £2500.... Now, 6 years on her insurance premiums now are £19 a month so even with that increase I still am better off with the insurance than I'd have been without - 10 years of insurance premiums would cost £2,280 - and I claimed more than than in her first year

Mia's went up from £15 to £25. Her monthly tablets only cost me £23 but she has blood tests every 3 months and now her larynx has started playing up, it makes it worth it

Oh it's definitely worth it.

They paid out around £4300 for Millie with her accident.

We wouldn't have.

She wouldn't be with us now if it wasn't for the insurance. Which is why I'll carry on paying it.
