Cheese fest!!!!!

Postby Ally » 13 Feb 2014, 16:06

Yesterday was a wondrous joyous day as lo and behold Mercadona had in stock some Irish cheddar cheese. :D

So rare is this delicacy that I've found myself, many many times today going to the fridge and slicing some off.

Except more than half of it has now been eaten!

I've just tried to squish it down a bit to sort of stretch it out in the vain hope that no one will notice how much I've actually eaten!

Aldi does some English cheddar - lovely stuff.

And we bought some gorgeous cheeses in Castro Verde last week - still got half of a gurt 'un left and one litlle 'un.

What brand of Irish cheese, Ally? I'm dairy intolerant, but used to love a nice bit of cheese.

I had to go and check Osc - I've been too busy scoffing to even look at the name.

I'd be the same :D
It's only by having it available at all times that I'm able to restrain myself a little :D

A few years ago mum brought me over 2kg!! of fantastic strong Scottish cheddar and I'm ashamed to say I ate the lot - myself!- within a week!

We always have plenty of lovely Spanish cheeses and Brie, Camembert, etc, is so ridiculously cheap here too.

But nowt tastes as fine as a good strong cheddar.
