The flooding must be really bad in West Sussex
My son has just phoned to see how his Dad is and said that
he left Eastbourne 3 hours ago to get to work near Gatwick
and he is stuck in a traffic jam not far past Brighton and
hasn't moved for ages.

Lissie it's like that around here, so many roads are closed you have to take huge detours, and then everyone else is trying the same one route :? Some places are just cut off, you can't get in or out.

Hope he gets there in the end x

I don`t think it can be so bad in East Sussex as he wouldn't have
ventured far if it was flooded in Eastbourne--I think it got worse
as he went West :o

Lissie, it poured most of last night where I live (between Woking and Guildford) - I could see a few flooded roads from the train on my way to work; roads that weren't flooded when we had the really heavy rains end last year... there just isn't anywhere anymore for all this rain to go; the ground is saturated and the rivers full :(

this is the Surrey report - http://www.bbc.co.uk/travelnews/surrey
