Good morning, all.

We had a lovely day yesterday.
The Christmas Lunch we had at a local hotel was the best we had ever had.
We never thought we could demolish so much food, and we still left with
a whopping doggy bagful of turkey and beef for Prince.

We are having a quiet day today.
Gentle dog-walks are on the menu. (plus a few glasses of wine). :P

Hope you all had a wonderful day yesterday and have a good one today too.

Good MOrning everyone - I'm late on parade today  I made my lot another nice late brekkie of croissants, bacon etc and now they've gone! Mick is driving Harry and Becks to their Dad's so they can go to a family Boxing Day party later at the ex's parents' place in Camberley, and dropping Chris in Staines en route :) It's be :) en a wonderful couple of days, really terrific, and now Mick and I are looking forward to some 'us' time ;) ;)

I wasn't well last night, I think something I ate yesterday might have had something lurgicky in it as I woke in the early hours with my heart racing like the clappers, and I felt clammy and shaky :? It wore off after an hour or so but I woke feeling very tired :? I'm fine though, and after running round with the hoover etc am just taking it very easy ;)

I hope everyone has a great Boxing Day, Jen enjoy the panto :D Aggers turkey seems to have an unfortunate effect on Fraggle's digestive system, it makes him very windy  Di and Saundra, have lovely 'family' days :D :D Hope everyone else enjoys themselves too :D

Oh Kaz, it's easily done when you're eating all different things - hope you feel ok today xxx

Hi all - well we had one of the best Christmas days ever yesterday, lots of fun with everyone round until about 1, and then afterwards just the three of us with loads of food, telly, and dog walking, and later we did a daft game of Pictionary which was hilarious    Lots of alcohol consumed throughout the day, loads of food eaten (mostly prepared by Jen...well, ok ALL of it   - home made leek and potato soup for starters with crusty bread, then turkey and all the trimmings and then she'd made an 'alternative' Christmas pudding - again, from scratch, she'd made panettone but as a bread and butter pudding with lots of rum in the custard sauce - it was delicious!!! But carb overload, lol

I got loads of lovely stuff for Christmas, some new knee boots, lots of smellies, chocs and stuff, also a voucher for a full body massage at Jen's hotel ( 8-) - she got one for herself as well so we can go together and have a girly day) - also got Nile Rodgers' autobiog, can't wait to start that as I think he's fascinating :D

Today I have the second wash of the day on the go - we were supposed to be going to the dog track but it's been called off as we woke to freezing fog and the track was icy. So as Jen is working this evening, we are having a day of peace and quiet while T has gone up to the club to watch the match. Happy days :D :D

Hope everyone has a lovely Boxing Day xxxx

Oh Gal that all sounds wonderful! :D :D It's lovely to 'hear' you so happy ((((((((((((((x)))))))))))))))))))) ;) ;) ;)

Jen is an absolute gem, I did all the cooking yesterday and it would be lovely to have it done for me LOL They were all good about helping to 'clear' but nobody else cooks........................ :?

We have enough leftovers to feed the five thousand, so it will be a matter of just grazing over the next couple of days - I will be careful though, as I have no idea what 'upset' me yesterday? Maybe the tarte tatin (French apple tart) might have had a few ground almonds in the pastry? :? I'll let Mick finish that ;)

Trifle anyone? I have enough for the lot of you.......................

Afternoon all, it's bright and sunny here after a foggy start, it's quite cold though. We took Billy for a lovely long walk this morning and now John's gone for a bike ride, the gym reopens tomorrow but we're out for the day so I'll have to wait until Saturday before I can get some proper exercise.

Yesterday was quite nice, we had a long dog walk in the morning whilst the turkey was cooking. I prepared the veg when I got back, and we were eating by 1pm. We didn't have a huge dinner though. After that, John and I claimed a sofa each and had a nap, the boys were in their rooms playing their new games. We went for tea at my parents, Julie and Roger were still there and it was a nice evening. We got back around 9 and watched a couple of episodes of Inbetweeners.

This morning I've also sorted out mine and John's presents. Let's just say that we'll be making quite a donation to the charity shop. I wish people would buy us chocolates instead! John had a box of Heroes which were opened and left on the side yesterday morning for anyone to dip into and I had a one layer box of All Gold which we shared last night, and that's it...the Christmas chocolates are all gone :(

Mom and Dad are coming here this afternoon and we're going to Wales tomorrow. Not looking forward to that. It's a long way to go, especially as we were only there last week plus we've got to go to John's sister's house for a meal and let's put it this way, if her house was a restaurant environmental health would shut it down :o

She sure is - I find cooking a chore and was more than happy to hand over the reins, she actually banned me from the kitchen other than finding dishes and bowls to put cooked stuff in - even if she hadn't bought me the massage treat, that in itself would have been my Christmas gift!! 8-) It's hard work when there's only you to do it all..((((((((()))))))

Yes could possibly have been almonds in the pastry that got you - are you ok now?

Oh Jo that sounds awful! I hope you can enjoy the time away a little, at least xxxx

T is back at work tomorrow (I'm off until next Friday! 8-) ) and Jen has plans with friends so looks like it might just be me and the hanimals :D

Yes I am fine thanks sweetie, just tired! I will sleep well tonight I think ;) Christmas dinner cooked by someone else would be a huge treat for me too - I can count n the fingers of one hand the times I've had it cooked for me in my adult life! :?

Jo I hope tomorrow isn't too awful ((((((x)))))) We have tons of choc left, shall I squeeze some down the keyboard? ;) xxxxxx

Funny how folks are different, innit? ;) ;) ;)

I'm in my element cooking big meals..the most I've done for is 14 and it all got served up hot and on time (Don done the serving at the table as I was dishing up) but I really do enjoy the organisation of it all. :) :)

It's always been 'the rule' that I don't lift a dish for the rest of the day and anything I fancy snack wise gets made for me.

Queen of Sheba me.

I've cooked for 10, and I was only 21 at the time   That was the year my mum, dad, sister, and nan came up to Yorkshire, and there were the ex's folks as well

I can do it, I just don't really get much joy out of it :? Unless the rare fancy takes me, like it did this summer :?
