Busy, busy day for me today. Adoption panel until 1.30pm and then I am meeting with Ofsted from 2.30pm to 4.30pm as they are inspecting Derbyshire childrens services at the moment and adoption services are obviously included in that. They are interviewing me as an independent member of the adoption panel.

I am also supposed to try and fit in some tablet training for our new tablets for our panel papers - somehow I dont think that will happen!!

Then over to mums to grab something quick to eat and then take S to school for 5.45pm as she is performing in a dance show. Then back to mums to pick up mum and L and then on to my mum in laws to take them up to watch the show.

Show finishes at 9pm so have to take mum and mum in law home and then come home myself. I wanted to go to the Christmas quiz at the pub tonight but that starts at 9pm and we won't get in til about 9.45pm so I think and can forget about that one.

Oh and I need petrol - not quite sure where that fits into my itinerary!!!

Safe trips Ally and Meri.

Debih that all sounds busy, busy, busy!! Have a good day, and I hope things go well for S at school xxx

Well I'm very glad Mick got home when he did last night, as this morning all flights from Edinburgh are cancelled and so are the trains, due to the bad weather   He had a good time, but is a bit tired this morning LOL The food and booze were a bit too good I think ;)

Take care and stay safe Poll in the storms! xxxxx

I need a good walk today, not been for one since Monday! What with dog sitting and dental appointments LOL My tooth feels better today, one of the drilled ones was very sensitive last night, so I had to take painkillers........

Hope everyone is well and happy today, hugs for those who might not be (((((((x))))))))

Good morning :)

Hope you have a good journey, Ally.

And that our Debih gets through her busy day .

It's blowing like mad here, and I can't say I enjoyed the morning dog-walk.

We won't be going far today.

Hope every Vocal Voice is fighting fit and singing in tune.

Be good.

Morning all :)
We're definitely in the lucky zone with the weather today, there's a strong wind but that's all.
Saundra your son will be getting sand in his house ;) :D
Kaz I thought of M last night when they were talking about the storms, glad he got home - it might make them think again about shuttling everyone up there though ;) Glad your teeth are feeling better x
Ally safe trip and have a fabulous time :D
Meriad hope you got up ok - and you have a good time too :)
Debih that's a day and a half at least!

My new vaccuum cleaner is supposed to come today, so neither of us will be hoovering until then :D
Bb's working later so if it doesn't come before I might have to wait for him to help put it together - you always have to put things together, don't you :o
A fast day today, so will make some soup for lunch, but may also make some bits for the freezer for you-know-when :x
Hope everyone has a good day and stays safe

Good morning all, it's very cold and windy here. Joe's off school as he now has this cold, I'm over the worst of it I think and John's now starting with a sore throat. He's got to drive down to Southend and back for work today too so has gone armed with various cold sweets and a flask of tea. Joe's lying on the sofa watching last night's I'm A Sleb ;)

My mission today is to start and finish Operation Christmas Cards. It's not going well though because Billy's decided I must play and keeps dropping various toys onto my lap!
I'm also waiting for a phone call from Sky. I started the process to switch to them from Virgin for our phone and broadband as our Virgin contract ended on Monday but things are never simple for us. The online order tracker showed a problem with the phone line order and on calling them yesterday it turns out that the system is showing as BT owning the line and not Virgin, although they're the company who we pay line rental to. Oh, and I had a letter yesterday from Virgin saying they'll switch off the phone service on Dec 27th - I only called them to confirm that our 18 month contract had ended and when they couldn't offer us fibre broadband which Sky can, I said I'd have to look into changing. The woman asked if I wanted to cancel but I said no because I hadn't looked into alternatives! Grrrrr!! Sky can't work that out either as they were looking to take over the service on the 17th!

Safe journeys to all travelling today! Really pleased that M made it back before the travel disruption Kaz!

Morning all :)

Very windy but dry at the moment.

Safe journey Ally. Hope you don't get lost chasing your tail today Debih ;) Glad Mick got home safely kaz and good your tooth feels better this morning :)

It's my aunt's birthday today so we're going over there this afternoon for coffee and I've bought her a small birthday cake. Normally we'd be taking them out to lunch, but she's not been able to go out for about six weeks now. She's in lots of pain as another two discs in her spine have crumbled, the GP has been visiting several times a week trying to find a painkiller she can tolerate. She's had digestion problems for years so a lot of stronger meds make her very sick. She's now on a low dose morphine and struggles to find things she can/wants to eat. My poor uncle who isn't very well himself is exhausted. My cousin Christopher is staying with them this week so hopefully that's been a help.

Must detour to the post office on the way there, need to get the cards for Oz sent off, the last posting day is 8th.

Hope you all have a good day :)

Morning everyone

A lovely morning and so we slept in  I normally wake up every 1 to 2 hours, every night  and have to get up at least once to empty Gladys, so as I slept for most of the night, Grumpy let me sleep - blame that Aldi's cream liquer meself

Safe journeys to the travellers, hope you both have a safe flight and a lovely time whilst you're away.

We're off down to the market soon - to get some of that lovely cheese , then going onto our friends apartmnt, as she needs more stuff done.

If she was still with her nice man, he would have done all the bits and bobs, but Grumpy has been roped in

Stay safe over there, and warm xx
