I'm starting VERY early this year

Postby meriad » 29 Nov 2013, 15:49

with the Christmas tree that is...

This coming Sunday is 1st Advent Sunday so some christmassy type stuff will get put out, but this year I'm putting the tree up as well (usually that only goes up mid December. But the reason for starting early is little Henry - my new cat. He's definitely more playful and mischievous than the others ever were so I figure if I do this decorating thing very slowly it may just work...

So on Sunday the tree will go up and depending on how much Henry decides the tree is the best climbing frame ever, I either go to step 2 which will be the lights or I will have to admit defeat, pack it all away and just make do with non cat climbing / destructable decorations.

We have written our Christmas cards and put stamps on the ones we will have to post.
Not putting decorations up till 8th December. Only have a small tree now. Put lights round frony door and the lounge window which looks out onto the road.

We are writing ours this weekend, too. Then we might put up the Christmas decorations.

Why not? One has to move with the times, they say.

I love Christmas.

hope it works ;)

For a few years I put my tree up on 1st December but last year was a bit later, decided it is going up on Sunday too!

Bought some more tinsel today as im sure I could have done with more last year, lots of pink!! Amy is very excited! I also bought an advent candle 2 year ago but never got round to lighting it, so hoping to light it on Sunday and burn one day at a time :D :D

Oh, I suppose I will have to join in and drag myself off to the £1 shop and get a sparkly snowman, Santa and Rudolph (with LED noses) and some tinsel......

I'm no Henry, me. :-P

Mid December for our main tree too but we always have a smaller artificial one in the dining room too. That will go up extfweekend after we've been to the big Xmas market.

And I must get my cards written tomorrow.

A couple of our neighbours were saying that they're going to put their trees up today, I think that once I see their houses looking festive I'll start wanting to do ours.
