Remember it being on the TV News, but at my age back then, it didn't mean much to me, to be honest.

Watching the tele on leave in England. A news flash interrupted the program and I remarked that it is ages since they shot their president.

Somewhere in Suffolk on the way to Aldeburgh. Was going to see one of our clients who were working at Sizewell nuclear power station. I was driving a Mini and had a portable radio on the back shelf listening to Radio 4. I had stopped at a road junction to jion the A12 The Archers finished and usually there was music to introduce the news programme. Instead the announcer said they were going straight to Dallas and gave the details about JFK. Didn't move for a few minutes as I was getting a good signal.

I was 18 and I was walking in the town with my boyfriend (now husband) when a friend stopped in a car and told us that Kennedy had been shot. We came straight home to my house and I remember the black and white globe turning endlessly on the TV screen. All the programmes had stopped and they were waiting for the latest news from Dallas.

I was 20, married with one son. We had just sat down after the evening meal - I think we were waiting to see the Harry Worth show when the newsflash came on.
