We have a large bookcase in Mick's study, and the kids have one each but that's it! I got rid of loads to the charity shops so ours are mostly 'forever' too ;)

I don't tend to keep books (novels). In fact, I have kept only one - Go Ask Alice by Anon. It is about an American teenager who gets hooked on drugs and is her diary. She dies in the end. I kept it to make my girls read when they are older!!!!

I do keep some children's novels though - Harry Potter, St Clare's, Mallory Towers and a few older books from my childhood.

Otherwise I only have reference books, gardening books, knitting books and cookery books (and boy do I have a lot of cookery books).

My books are all kept on shelves in the alcove chimney breasts in the dining room except for a small pile of to be read novels that are piled on the floor in my bedroom.

Most of my books either come from the library or are on my kindle.

I am currently reading The 100 Year Old Man.....

I try to clear out books regularly, although we have one bookcase with books for keeping in it. I use the library quite a lot so don't build up too big a pile.

I'm just finishing On Green Dolphin Street by Sebastian Faulks. it's interesting because it is set in the diplomatic world the year that Kennedy was elected when the Cold War was in full swing.

I'm still plodding on with 100 year old man.

I'm really enjoying it - I'm just not in a reading mood at the moment.

I really enjoyed The Last Letter From Your Lover by Jojo Moyes, there was a good twist in it too :)
I'm now going to start One Moment, One Morning by Sarah Rayner.

It's one of those slowish but interesting ones Jo :)

I'm still reading Speak Swahili, Dammit, and still really enjoying it - didn't realise how big a book it is :D
Parts of it are laugh-out-loud funny, have related a few little stories to Bb and he's looking forward to it now :)

I have put The 100 Year Old Man to one side - I was enjoying it but just struggling to sit down and read.

I picked up a book I had ordered from the library on Saturday and have started that - The Twins by Saskia Sarginson. I'm not far enough into it to know what it will be like. The Amazon reviews are very good though.

In fact, I might just grab another cup of coffee before I go to work and have a read.
