We were lucky that Becks got her place at Leeds as it allowed her to stay at home. Had she got Nottingham or Loughborough it might not have been possible without something being sold or a bank loan being taken out.

I think that quite a few might now have to do something similar or delay a degree until they have saved the funds to be able to live - rent, food etc..

Tom has said that he'd prefer to stay at home if he can and go to a local university. I suppose we're fortunate that we've got Birmingham, Wolverhampton and Staffordshire all within easy reach providing he can study whatever he wants to do at one of those.

Bristol is 'just' out of comfortable commuting range without a car. It's about 45/50 mins on the train, the station is a couple of miles from here, then the walk or bus ride at the other end...............a commute of the best part of two hours both ways

Besides I think the experience of living away from home is doing her a lot of good - I think she was very 'young' in a lot of ways for 18, and now is growing up fast - but it is very expensive :?
