I'm not much of a boiled sweets lover, though I like herbal tablets, Werthers and the creamy fruity boiled sweets that Aldi sell.
I love toffees though, especially these http://www.grumpyssweetshop.com/carachoco

And fudge...OMG! How I love fudge!!!

Does anyone remember 'Chocstix'?

:D

I remember them Loz, they were all right but I wasn't that keen. Sometimes I think I chose things like that just because they lasted a nice long time :D
Wasn't keen on chews/chew bars either, but there was one called Sunset Strip, that I quite liked - little stripes of different colours - it was much sharper than the usual ones, like chewy refreshers :)
Never did like toffees much, butterscotch sometimes :)

I was never keen on chew bars either Di.

When Joe was in his last year at juniors there was a fad for these.
He offered me one before I knew what they were and I thought I was going to die. So so so so so SO very sour :o

ETA, it's a great shop, Mr Simms. There's one in the village about 3 miles away where my sister lives and I took Joe in a few weeks ago on pocket money day. He decided on a pick and mix. The assistant asked him how much he wanted so he thought about it..."£7 worth please" He settled on £1 :-P

There's a lovely little shop in town that sells all kinds of different chocolate, sweets in jars, loads of lovely stuff :)
Bb goes each year for little bits for my C-word stocking - they sell Bendicks bittermints, another of my all-time favourites - loose ;)

That looks like a lovely shop :D

The shop I used to manage sold greeting cards, chocolates and sweets, the entire length on one side was a shiny mirrored neon lit pick and mix fixture. In the store room were hundreds and hundreds of 7lb and 14lb bags of various sweets and chocolates...and you know what? We must've had mice because most of the bags had holes in, just big enough for finge...I mean a mouse's nose to fit in

;)
Whilst at school I had a weekend job in the shop that was at the end of the road we used to live - we'd already moved, but walking distance, about a mile.
I worked every other Saturday & Sunday afternoons, I loved it :) It sold papers, and a few toys, cigarettes etc - and sweets :D
Lots of lovely jars. The owners were lovely, she would invite me to take my pick with our afternoon cuppa.
There was one, I've never seen it since, a hardish, big round ball of dark chocolate, with green strong mint inside, I only ever had one or two at a time :)

Ooh that sounds lovely! Do you remember those Pyramints that were available in the late 80s/early 90s?

Just going slightly off topic but chocolate is involved...way back in the 70s I remember that we used to get a box of ice cream chocolates off the ice cream man. A small box with small cube shaped chocolates containing ice cream - I think you could either have mint or orange. I think they were by Walls but I can't remember the name. I seem to have it in my mind that there was an owl in the picture on the front though.
