conkers!! Purely because we read that a bowl of conkers in the house keeps those flying daddy long legs away! We tried it last year and it seemed to work. I put a small bowl in the rooms most badly affected by the little blighters! And it was a most relaxing and enjoyable hour. The play park had that real autumnal look and feel but it wasn't cold. Leaves underfoot and conker cases, and hidden on the ground shiny brown conkers! It brought back such happy memories of the 3 younger grandchildren when they were small and it was one of the activities we did with them, sadly as you may remember we lost Elliot nearly 2 years ago so the memories were bitter sweet. A nice hour out of the day.
Yes I do Cal, it's so terribly sad but so lovely when you can remember happy times as well ((((x)))) I must do the conker thing, they're meant to help with spiders too
A mate of mine has a downstairs toilet, it's not in the house, but its not an outhouse either. At this time of year she puts a fresh conker in each corner of the room to keep down the spiders, moths and daddy longlegs..... and they keep them away!
We used to collect conkers every year Di I had heard that about spiders too My nan had an outside loo as well as an inside - she could have done with knowing that about conkers!
Well I put a small bowl in the lounge and another in the bedroom - and we had no daddy long legs or spiders annoying me last night. I wonder why it works?
