Advice please

Postby Ally » 31 Aug 2013, 07:41

Last week I bought an albahaca (basil) plant.

It's huge, smells divine and tastes even better but I want to know how to look after it.

At the moment it's in a terracotta plant pot on my kitchen table!

I picked some of the leaves off on Thursday and added them to a pasta sauce..the taste was incredible. :-P :-P

Oh thanks Kaz.

Shall I leave it in the shade and just water it lots do you think?
It's seemed to need lots of water so far but that could just be the heat maybe?

Mine has taken a fair bit of watering too, but yours is bound to need more :) Mine has been down the side of the house, it gets a fair bit of sun but nothing like yours will, so I'd say shade was right ;)

Oh and when it throws up flowers it needs pruning back. Mine will die over the winter if I don't move it indoors but yours should be ok, they like a warm climate 8-)
