Wish I could say the same Ally!
I have done some and about to do the bathroom - at least there's no ironing ;)

I only got mine done in super duper time as I had the house to myself!

No one wanting to chat with me, no one looking for something that means mum has to stop what she's doing and point them in the direction where it's blatantly staring at them in the face.

You get the gist....

Lol I know...last week I made Bb and the boys do our picnic lunches a couple of times while I got ready to go out.
I also made sure the boys did washing-up, putting-away, things like that.

'Where does this go?'
Me: 'I don't know, I don't live here either. Open all the cupboards and drawers until you find something similar'
...'I can't find anything else.'
It was a cereal bowl, matching 5 others, 4 large plates, 6 small plates, mugs, cups... :D

Me, calling from upstairs: 'You can have some toasted fruit loaf before we go out if you like'.
...*feet on stairs*
Eldest: 'Umm, we can't find the fruit loaf'
Me: 'Oh for heaven's sake, just look - there's a bread bin, space on top of it, cupboards - it's in the kitchen!'
...Bb, shouting up the stairs: 'Di, where did you put it, we can't find it'
Me, remembering - eventually 'Oh I think I put it in the freezer'

Lol Di!

A few weeks ago Conor wanted to make him and Don a sausage sandwich for lunch.

Muuuum!!!??? (I'm up 2 flights of stairs!) where's the sausages?

Me: IN THE FRIDGE!

What fridge mum? (we have a fridge and a fridge/freezer)

IN THE FRIDGE!!

They're not there mum.

TRY THE FRIDGE/FREEZER!

They're not there mum.

Up pipes Don, no, I can't find them either Al.

FFS! I run down the 2 flights of stairs, go into the kitchen like a stormtrooper muttering things like blind/bats/stupid idiots.

NO SAUSAGES!! :? :?

Lightbulb moment.

Shout upstairs....Jacob have you seen the sausages?

Yes mum..I've just eaten them!!!

This is a madhouse I'm telling you!

We've been through:

Recipe folder with loose recipes in sections (Appetisers, meat, fish, baking, etc, etc - been through the lot)
Recipe binder with recipes written out A-Z
Recipe file (photo file) with recipes slipped in
The whole two shelves of cookbooks in the kitchen, in case recipe has fallen out of wherever it was
Pc One Note recipe section
Pc search
Loose recipes shoved on top of cookbooks 'to be sorted/recently used'
Bits and pieces in little tub on worktop, inc. receipts, newly-scribbled recipes, recently-used recipes
Moneysavingexpert, where I think the recipe came from, but only get links to more links, to yet more links, to no actual recipe
Yahoo & google search, to several recipes, but not the one we know we have.

We could probably guess, it's something like flour, w/meal flour, oxo cube, water, but was there oil? Yeast??
