Forth bridge walkway.

Would you do it?

They want to introduce a viewing platform on the bridge, but you have to walk to it...... in places you will be 100ft above the bridge proper and out over the water.

I'm game. Bring it on! :kick: :kick: :kick:

ooh that sounds interesting!

I have walked over the Forth Bridge a few times, not sure I would want to go even higher though, seem to have acquired vertigo with age :(

Keep saying I will take Amy a walk over it but never get round to it....one day!

Poll, the talk is of the platform on the middle span looking out to sea and back up the river.

I reckon it would be a "must do" for loads of visitors and a money spinner par excellence!

interesting WM, they have been building/doing something on that area for a long time, I always thought they were going to do something like that but never came to anything - maybe now they are finally getting on with it!

is this on the old bridge? they have started work on a new bridge and just realised this may be on the new one?

Pol, the new bridge is to replace the road bridge which is slowly falling apart. The viewing platform is planned for the rail bridge........................I would certainly visit it.

I have a picture of the rail bridge as my screen saver.

Poll, there is only one Forth Bridge; it's the three dinosaurs walking nose to tail across the water.

That's where the platform will be...... on the middle dinosaur's back. ;)

yeah Molly I know that, I live about 20mins away from the bridges ;)

Just had a look online, I would be very surprised if the plans are accepted and go ahead, definitely would not catch me on top of the forth rail bridge, no way! It is an amazing structure, have been on a few boat trips and gone underneath, wow is all i can say!

reading more - a glass lift, oh my giddy aunt, my stomach is turning at the thought of it, im sure it would be great for some, but I personally couldnt lol!!

I have never sailed under it, that must be amazing. Have been over it a few times on the train.
