As they walked on stage they were booed and had bottles chucked at them, it's quite a famous appearance. Marc Bolan sat on the stage, stopped the music and said, 'Ok, I'll do you a deal. One song; if you don't like it, we'll go - but for one song, shut the ***k up'. They did Ride a White Swan and by the middle of it everyone was on their side, it was fantastic

Actually, having google-checked, I think the heckling may have been at Weeley, which is annoying me as I really thought it was Reading... Oh yes Ton Curved Air, they were festival regulars Lindisfarne were always a favourite, everyone singing along
