Had a nice day

Postby Osc » 08 Aug 2013, 19:00

Miss Osc and family are in Wicklow for a week's holiday and asked us to go down today - originally the men were to play golf but SIL has hurt his thumb so golf was out, however they all did go to the practice ground as Michael can't have a day without golf  Miss Osc and I went for a really nice walk - the day started off cloudy but by the time we got there the sun had come out and it was very nice. SIL had been doing lots of baking before we got there, the Great British Bake Off book open in front of him - he had made ciabatta, ordinary white bread and yummy sticky buns, think Starbucks Cinnamon Swirl only nicer with caramel and pecans on top mmmmmm. They were taking Michael on his first ever bowling outing around 5pm and asked us if we would like to stay on and eat out with them, but we decided to head home. Miss Osc texted me later to say Michael had loved the bowling and they were now having their dinner, with the golf on tv where they were, so he was one happy little boy!!!

Simple days out can't be beaten, can they.

He is generally a happy little boy, Jo - of course like all small children he likes to get his own way as you can imagine, but they do make sure he behaves himself so it's very easy to take him places.

That's the trick isn't it Osc, let them think they're winning most of the time, and so long as you teach them a few manners along the way you can take them anywhere :)

It is true, Di - and you have to be consistent too. Poor Michael has had the "please, thank you" thing being impressed on him since way before he could talk
