We've decided to go to the same beach today. It's perfect - local, in walking distance, loos, cafe, etc close by. It's also their closest.

Girls want to see them - friends to play with and all that - I don't care as long as I get to read my book.

I will leave it to chance.

Oh Debih, so not want you wanted - I am sorry :-(

Hopefully you get to read today; and if they are there then just comment how much you've been looking forward to relaxing on the beach with a book and that it's the best part of a holiday and hopefully she'll get the hint and leave you alone.

As for Gosforth - definitely the clown wig; but don't forget the castanets and pineapple hat. She'll then think you've gone completely barmy  and hopefully will steer well clear

Stay firm!

Woo hoo. They weren't there.

I feel really mean. I don't dislike her - there is nothing to really dislike - but I wouldn't choose her as a friend and I definitely wouldn't chose to go on holiday with them.

The boys annoy me though - big, lolloping Molly coddled children. I couldn't believe it when S said that the eldest (aged 13) had never been in the sea deeper than his ankles. Well actually, I could believe it. And the youngest (age 10) needs help to climb up the ladder to the top bunk. FFS!!!

I made an executive decision.

The pub she wanted to go to on Friday night is nice enough but bog standard, cheap bar food.

Another pub in the village has much nicer food and a good variety of fresh fish so I have booked a table for us four for Friday.

I have messages her and told her why and that I have booked four us but if they want to join us that's fine, they just need to call in and add themselves to our table.

I don't want to go to their choice of pub just because it is cheap - it is out only evening meal out all week. I want to go where I want to go.

I like that approach Debih, it's plain and simple and says that for you the holiday is special...... not bog-standard.

Hopefully, she has the ability to read between the lines. ;)
