I understand, Di that the section at Santiago is beyond the area where there are speed sensors in the track to automatically control the train and the driver could not have realised where he was. Quite horrific but the video reminds me of my kids model railway where I sent the train around a curve at increasing speeds to see how fast it could go without derailing and noted the effect of increasing the banking.

I saw the footage - horrendous. My heart goes out to those who lost loved ones and sending prayers and vibes for those injured. So sad

According to an article in one of the papers today the train company is saying the train has just undergone a safety check and all was working fine; I suspect they are hoping it is driver error as it would absolve them of all liability (guilt) and avoid mass payouts?
