The Cake.

Postby debih » 19 Jul 2013, 12:09

Is finished at last. Some of you will have already seen it as I have been posting my progress on FB. I have done nothing else yet today (although two friends did pop round for coffee so I stopped for a chat) and I am still in my PJ's.

Here are numbers 1 and 2 about to go in the oven.

All the layers cooled and stacked.

And the finished article - they'll be bouncing off the walls after a slice of that.

And here is what happens when you forget to put the guard on the mixer when it is full of icing sugar......

I am waiting for S to get home from school so we can transport it down to the hotel near where the street party is being held so it can go in their cold storage. L is sharing it with her friend, also called L, as they are both 11 tomorrow.

She will be so pleased as I told her that I couldn't make it - I wasn't that clever - so she is just expecting a Victoria sponge cake with hers and L's name written on. I hope the other L likes it.

They will be bouncing off the walls - the amount of sugar and butter that has gone into it!!!!

That looks amazing!! :D You'll have to remember to take a photo when you cut a slice out of it!

Joe had a Haribo cake for his birthday. He'd seen one in Asda when we were shopping once so I made a Victoria sponge coated with buttercream and then stuck loads of Haribos on it. NIce and easy and just what he wanted

I'll make sure I get a photo tomorrow as soon as it gets cut.

Will probably go on FB first (at the street party) but will put on here when I get home.
