Fugi, you're wonderful!!!! :D :D :kick: Enjoy every minute of this!

I don't really know many songs by The Eagles but I love Hotel California and Take It Easy...and Don Henley's Boys Of Summer is absolutely one of my favourite songs ever, it takes me right back to my last year at school . I wear Wayfarers because of that song!! :D

Just so 80's darling! 8-)

During the Eagles' wilderness years when they all went their different ways. Love the dancing

Shouldn't laugh because I can still dance like that -in very short bursts

Enjoy!

I got re-hooked on The Eagles since watching that programme too! I played their CDs a lot afterwards, especially this album which features a couple of songs with Randy singing

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rIcfUb7JlN8

I agree he hasn't aged as well as the others though....probably too much women and booze!

I watched a very interesting interview with Don Felder on some American chat show via youtube - he looks incredible and he and the other Don and Glenn are all mid 60s :D DF has a much younger g/f as well....can't blame him really 8-)

Have to say I rather went off Glenn Frey after hearing him spout off such venom about both Randy and Felder after they left the band. He came across as such an arrogant up-his-own type

ETA - here's the interview with Don Felder!

Beside myself with joyness because you Get It Gal :-P Randy always stood back from the limelight on stage but he was married aged seventeen and had three children before he was thirty during their glorious tour years and is now a Great-Grand-Dad! I read the transcript of a radio interview he gave a few years ago and he says sometimes he wishes he hadn't just left like he did. His career never took off after that. He grows tomatoes now and feeds the wildlife around his Californian home.

His health isn't good. Talk of dementia and if you recall when they got Eagles past and present together for the Rock 'n' Roll Hall of Fame award in 1998 Randy was stuck on the end of the stage and sort of strummed and barely sung and looked bewildered. I felt the need to hug him <nothing new there then>

The boxed set I bought was the two TV programmes plus The Hotel California tour live in Washington DC in 1977 and watching Randy play bass and sing the soaring harmony on 'One of These Nights' is heavenliness and beyond. The box set cost £27.00 including a lovely book of photos. I couldn't wait for a birthday or Christmas to wait for it as a gift as I needed it Now. Put it on your wish list Gal.

I was too busy in the 1970s with work, family to do any more than buy Eagles albums and cassettes and catch a glimpse of them now and then on TV. So I am reborn ;) Re-awakened to the splendour of The Eagles.

Don Felder looks gorgeous, and I have a soft spot for Joe Walsh as an old rocker and watching them play guitar with and against each other is wondrous. Yes, Glenn came across as a little bit nasty.

Of to look at your links. Thanks for those. Great Randy photo.

That timeless photo of Randy Meisner is from the early 1970's. If I saw him in a bar now looking like that I'd go into meltdown Ton! Although as a very dignified Grandmother I wouldn't show it. Is that my nose growing in a Pinocchio manner?

Oooh I love The Eagles - Best of is probably the most played album on my ipod, and before that, the CD. I saw them on their For One Night Only tour and they were mega fantastic! Missed the recent documentary though  Whenever I decide to listen to something on the ipod, and I don't know what I feel like, it's always The Eagles (especially when doing the ironing ;) )

So glad you enjoyed the pic Fuji! :D 8-) Randy wrote and sung on Certain Kind of Fool on the Desperado album - after one of the docs on BBC4, they showed an Eagles special of The Old Grey Whistle Test from circa 1973, Randy sung it live on there, and I was mystified because I was singing along to it word for word not having heard the track for about 20 year, possibly more ;) Can't find the youtube clip of that sadly.....but I know I had the LP of Desperado otherwise how did I know that song? Can't find it anywhere now, although I did replace Hotel California and One of These Nights LPs with CDs (still have the original LP and cover of Hotel California, I was told one day it might be worth something lol)

I knew he was married and had children young....he was in a band called Poco before joining the Eagles, and oddly enough they 'found' Timothy from the same band when looking for Randy's replacement!
