My childhood at New Year has powerful memories of fabulous parties.

My dad had 6 brothers and my parents always held the party on NYE.

One year all the brothers played a trick on mum. :D

They'd all agreed to meet (with their respective wives/girlfriends) round the corner from our house.

At 2 minute intervals they'd take it in turn to ring the bell leaving poor old mum running up and down the hall answering the door.

Of course my sis and I thought this was hilarious.

Uncle Jim was always the 'first footer' being dark haired and 6 foot 7. 8-)

These parties were still going on the 2nd Jan..wonderful happy memories. :P :P

The door would be left 'on the latch' and it seemed the whole neighbourhood would pop in. :D

I'm sure this is why I love a hoolie myself. :P :P :P

I really don't care for NYE at all. Normal night for us, we'll treat it like a Saturday night and have a Chinese and some wine I expect.

We have booked, in past years, a night in a hotel with food and entertainment, but we just can't afford it this year. I wouldn't dream of going out in the village as the one pub we have will be full of drunks  I'd just rather stay in tbh, be in bed by 11ish

We don't usually do anything on NYE. But this year we have decided to go dancing, as we will not have any relatives staying over.

That'll be creepy if you hear it this year Jo
