What a live act! I just looked and Debbie Harry is 68 on Monday. 68!!! I want to be dancing around whilst wearing hot pants and singing in tune when I'm 68

Lightning Seeds were the support. John's always liked them so wanted to be there for their set. Definitely one of the worst support bands I've ever seen (and I've seen a lot), Ian Broudie was so off key. After one song John said how bad they were.

5000 people were there and who comes and stand next to us? Our neighbours from 4 doors away so we've had a great time with them and have said we'll do it again next year.

Back to Blondie though. They opened with One Way Or Another which I love, they played the hits and they played some new material which was really good, and they did covers of Frankie Goes To Hollywood's Relax and The Rolling Stones' Get Off My Cloud.

This is a band I've been listening to since Denis, as a 9 year old in 1978, I'd never have believed back then that one night I'd stand on the Chase and watch them. I wanted to be Debbie Harry back then, or at least I wanted her hairstyle but I wasn't allowed to have it bleached and style-wise my Mom preferred to send me to school with pigtails

Do you remember my friends son who was in hospital recently? (he is fine now and thank you for the vibes) but they were supposed to see Blondie on the Saturday night in Tunbridge Wells. Blondie are her faves too, so I won't mention how good they were

That is sad about the Lightening Seeds, I really love their stuff too

They did an unplugged session a while back on the BBC Red Button - a mix of old and new.

A few times Debbie just stopped singing and let the band get on with it.... apart from that it was like listening to a tape. Timeless music.

That's just it Frank, timeless classics. There were people much older than us singing along, and there were also teenagers who knew all of the old stuff. It surprised me just how many young people were there.

Shell, that's a shame that your friend had to miss out. They do seem to tour a lot though so maybe she can catch them another time. Great to hear that he's better btw!

I was always in awe of DH back in the day, I thought she was the most beautiful woman in pop, and loved her sense of style...I remember her being 'old' when she first became famous (I think she was 32) but to a 17 year old that was really old
