Deb, I was reading One Day on the train coming home and I got to the shocking bit. I just sat and stared at the words

You don't see it coming do you.

I was lying in bed, late at night, listening to it. I was half asleep.

I shot up in bed and rewound it to make sure I had heard it right.

Oh I know the bit you're talking about. I re-read that bit a couple of times because I couldn't take in what had happened.

I know it's been out as a film for a couple of years now but I can't bring myself to watch it as I loved the book so much and don't want the film to spoil it.

I saw the film - it was a real let down. The casting just seemed wrong.

But fortunately it hasn't spoiled the book for me and I think I might listen to it again over the summer.

It was when I saw that Anne Hathaway had been cast as Em that I thought no, I'm not watching this :?
