Rick Stein's India

Postby Workingman » 20 Jun 2013, 12:24

It's on a Sunday, but I missed the first part so was watching on iPlayer.

I do like Rick..... he's a little bit eccentric with his poems and his random off-the-wall quotes and his notebook.

However, I like his food and his attitude to the way it is prepared and cooked, especially by locals in their own homes - none of this flaked sea salt and organic garlic rubbish, just use what it there and get on with it. He's looking for the perfect curry, but on the way he is going to come up with all sorts of 'alternatives'.

I watched it on Sunday and really enjoyed it. His are never just cookery programmes are they, it was a lovely way to spend an hour :)
There was a pull-out in the Times the other week with recipes from the series.

I really like Rick Stein. He seems really passionate about food and isn't all cheffy like some of these slebs.

Wasn't that river house that he was staying in stunning!

All the animals he could see had names.   then he came up with the random classic, "It's really warm, but I love cooking here". Que? :D :D :D
