Vibes (updated)

Postby Weka » 12 Jun 2013, 10:29

I'm a little late in asking for these, but a friend of mine, K, has the brca2 gene meaning she has a high risk if breast cancer etc, and yesterday, at 30 years of age has had a double mastectomy to lower her risk. She has a daughter just a few months older than Oliver. I think she is increadibly brave. she only found out about the gene a year ago. The op sounds like it has gone ok, but I realise there is more to it than that and this is just her first step, with reconstruction ops still to come.
Some healing vibes would be lovely if you have any to spare to help her on her way.

It is a brave decision Weka. The operations itself is not so major medically speaking, but feels more so to the patient!
And reconstruction certainly is pretty major; it's a long road but the best thing is she's doing it all when young and healthy and for the best of reasons.
There are always more than enough vibes to go round, and I wish her the very best recovery

Gosh, 30 is so young, but thank goodness the technology exists these days to pick up on that rogue gene so something can be done. Sending tons and tons of vibes for a speedy recovery from the first op and that the road ahead is an OK one for her.
