I loathe plastic aprons - they always seem really stiff and rigid. I crease when I bend over.............

My first husband used to have one of those naked lady ones, he used to wear it to cook when we threw dinner parties

I have a black and white striped butcher's apron I wear when I am cooking. It protects my clothes not the food, as NVQ food prep bods would have you believe, because I am a messy cook.

I do not wear it in the bedroom, the street or on buses.

It will not be on show at the Birmingham meet.

For those of us who cook surely it's essential Usually it's one from the s/mother, black with 'Mad about cooking' on the front, and yes round the neck and ties round the waist.
I also more often than not wear clothes that are used like overalls, and sometimes change before cooking, but if not the apron helps
