What the devil is happening???

Postby lissie » 23 May 2013, 14:20

We went out to Canterbury this morning and it was cold and wet :( The temperature in the car showed 11 degrees :o
We have just come back and the sky is black as night and it is raining and hailstones falling and the temperature
in the car is now --wait for it--6 degrees

I have now put the heating on and a jumper.

Isnt it weird????? I went out freezing this morning in what amounts to winter clothing - jeans, boots and raincoat - only to be absolutely baking by the time I got in an hour ago, as the sun came out! :?

You don't know what to put on in the mornings :?

It was lovely and sunny when I went out to the gym this morning, the sky was a beautiful clear blue, but it clouded over while I was in there and was just starting to rain as I left. Within a minute it was pouring down and then started hailing. I had a waterproof jacket on but my jeans were soaked and the cold strong wind meant I was chilled to the bone and couldn't feel my fingers when I got home. I've not really warmed up properly since.

I was out gardening in the sunshine at lunchtime. I pegged out some washing early afternoon and then it rained. It isn't cold though and is fine again now.

I went out this morning in boots, jeans and a mac and wished I'd gone back for a hat scarf and gloves. It was a bitter north wind. Well Kaz, like you I've had twelve days of blue skies and 73F and I felt and looked really well with a glow and plenty of natural vitamin D from being outside most of the time. Been back a week and looking pallid again. We managed a lunch and a drink in a pub garden on Saturday afternoon and I spent a morning combing the gravel and brushing the bark in the garden but the rest of the time on with the heating and back to wearing my fleecy Onesie indoors

My slight tan has just about faded too Fugi :? I tried to get a bit of sun on my arms when we went for Sunday lunch by the Dockside here, but nearly turned blue and put my jacket back on

Until yesterday Lissie, we had winter weather. Very windy, grey skies, cold.

England is not alone. Friends in Germany and Norway have both said their weather is not as normal.

Today and yesterday afternoon, I've actually topped up the tan 8-)

When I looked to see what sort of weather we can expect when we go away, yesterday, the highest temperature was 23C  When I looked today, it was 27C 8-) :D
