Is there a law about taking something that's been dumped

I could Rodo, if I knew who / where to ask. The carrier was dumped on the grass verge along a row of small industrial units so when I leave in the mornings it's closed and same again when I come past in the evenings. It's not a residential area

i personally would leave it
it might be classed as stealling
just my luck a police car would go by or a camera would record it

Round here people are always putting stuff out in the hope it is gone by the morning. I would have thought that was there reasons, or why else leave it?

because alot of people cant be bothered to go to the local tip
look at all the stuff that is just dumped on grass verges
councils are always going on about it
if i have anything i ring the charity shop
and they collect
council charge 20 pound here to collect up to 3 items

Precisely Saundra and business collections are more so they are probably hoping someone just takes it

Down in the West Country, many years ago, I was once told that the following was standard practice:

a) if you hit and kill a deer in your truck, you're not allowed to take the carcass for butchering
b) so phone a friend and tell him where you are
c) because if he then, ahem, "finds" the carcass, he is allowed to take it ......

How apocryphal, or indeed legal, that was, I have absolutely no idea!!
